Nine Year Old Pipe Dreams

Dear diary, I had such a fun dream last night! I dreamed I was a magical girl, one who could soar through the air and save the world from danger!

It was really something! I think I'd call myself "Magical Girl Hayate-chan!"

I'm doing better too, my legs aren't so bad today, and I can actually feel my toes better! The doctor got a little mad at me for going outside last time but she was okay with me playing around a little.

I saw a lot of people on the network are close to Christmas. I wonder if I should have my own Christmas in July! I'd have to dig out decorations though...

It's a little difficult to explain. But I have a trait that lets me use magic more easily than someone without it. Otherwise, it tends to be even harder to find someone with magic potential, at least in the worlds I've been to.

Oh I see, so it's sort of like 'magic is a rare thing' for people that you know, correct? I understand.

But I am good enough at putting charms on crafts. I might be able to make something that could at least put on a lightshow for you.

Hmm... y'know, I have a friend who likes to make outfits. I don't think I could make you an actual magical girl, but I could certainly help you dress up like one!

[She starts squeeing at that, a big grin on her face.]

I take it no one's called you that before? Okay then, please make me a magical girl dress oneechan!

It's not as nice as it looks. It's a lot of hard work and the fate of everyone lies on your shoulders, without any recognition for it. [Bitter ranting first, realizing she's speaking to a nine year old later.]

It still sounds like something I'd love to do. I mean... being crippled and all, I would love to be able to some day save people...

Well... it's not all bad, of course. I don't know how your world works, but if magic exists there, you never know what might happen.
